The official trailer for Piranha 3DD has been released. Check it out below!

"Having awoken from their spring break extravaganza at Lake Victoria, the swarm heads upstream where they look to make a meal out of Big Wet, a local water park where when it comes to fun, nobody does it wetter! Thought they came to get wet, get loaded and get some, the staff and patrons get more than they bargained for when they must face the fiercest, most bloodthirsty piranhas yet. Lead by the strong-willed, studious Maddy and her friends, Barry and Kyle, the trio must dive in and take on these man-eating creatures using every ounce of their being...but can they be stopped?"

Some News About "The Hangover Part III"

For anyone who doesn't know, The Hangover Part III is happening and it's been given a release date of May 24th, 2013. The three stars (Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis) will be coming back to reprise their roles. As of right now, no details about the plot have been announced, but Mike Tyson confirmed that he'll be part of the upcoming comedy during an interview with The Boxing Blog.

Word of a third movie should not be a surprise to anyone seeing how much money the first two movies grossed, The Hangover alone grossed over $460,000,000 worldwide. While promoting The Hangover Part II, director Todd Phillips said that he always had intentions for a trilogy.

"Obviously we always envisioned it as a trilogy. The third would be very much a finale and an ending... I haven't discussed it with these actors yet. [It would] not follow the same template, but is very much a new idea."
I know that not everyone likes these movies, but I love them and I look forward to the third one.

Movie Recommendation of the Week: "Drive" (2011)

My movie recommendation of the week:

Drive (2011)
Directed by Nicolas Winding Refn

From Netflix: "A Hollywood stuntman who moonlights as a getaway driver is lured from his isolated life by a lovely neighbor and her young son. His newfound peace is shattered, however, when her violent husband is released from prison."

Choosing a film from last week to recommend was tough because I saw three that I feel were worthy of a recommendation. I decided to go with Drive because I was pretty much mesmerized from beginning to end. Ryan Gosling was excellent and the perfect choice to play Driver. The story, direction and soundtrack were all great. I can't recommend this film enough. I will say that there is some shocking and graphic violence, so if that's a problem for some people, they may just want to stay away.

From reading reviews on Netflix, this a film that people either love or hate. People who hated it said it was boring, slow and didn't have much action. While I disagree with them, it's their opinion and I have mine, so that's that. One woman in Michigan went so far as to sue the distributor, FilmDistrict, claiming that the trailer was misleading and gave her the impression that it was going to be similar to Fast and Furious. She was disappointed to find out that she ended up watching an art film with some action. I have a feeling her lawsuit is going to be thrown out and it should be because it's a frivolous lawsuit.

I got 16 out of 24 correct or 67%. Not bad, not bad.

The worse category of the night was Best Original Song. For one, only two songs?! If that was the case, they should've just scrapped the category from the show. Another thing, what happened to the songs being performed like previous years? Again, just scrap the category.

The 32nd Annual Razzie Awards: And The Nominees Are...

The nominations for the 32nd Annual Razzie Awards have been announced and it's not looking good for Adam Sandler because he has been nominated for 11 Razzies this year, a new record! The previous record holder was Eddie Murphy with five nominations back in 2007.

The "winners" will be announced on Sunday, April 1st (April Fool's Day). Will any of the nominees be there to accept their award if they were to "win"? It's very, very rare that anyone does because in the 31 years that the Razzies have been around, only three celebrities have shown up: Tom Green for Freddie Got Fingered (2001), Halle Berry for Catwoman (2004) and Sandra Bullock for All About Steve (2009). The MPAA Gives "Bully" an R Rating

The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) slapped Lee Hirsch's documentary Bully with an R rating for "some language". Hirsch and others involved with the film including The Weinstein Company were really hoping for a PG-13 rating because they wanted to show the documentary to middle and high school students as a teaching tool, but with the R rating, their plans were ruined since minors under 17 can't watch rated R films without being accompanied by a parent/guardian.

The Weinstein Company went to the MPAA to appeal their ruling and make a case for a PG-13 rating. Speaking to appeals board included Harvey Weinstein, Co-Chairman of The Weinstein Company, and one of the subjects from the film, Alex Libby.

Earlier today, the appeals board, The Classification and Rating Appeals Board, decided to uphold the R rating for Bully.

Harvey Weinstein wasn't too happy about the outcome of the appeal, so he released a statement where he expressed his disappointment in the outcome of the appeal and how the company is "considering a leave of absence from the MPAA for the foreseeable future."

In response to Weinstein's statement, the MPAA released their own statement which says that while bullying is a "serious issue", the MPAA still has a responsibility "to acknowledge and represent the strong feedback from parents throughout the country who want to be informed about content in movies, including language."

I know that Harvey Weinstein doesn't have the best reputation in Hollywood, but in regards to this issue, he's right. The MPAA is a joke and giving a documentary about bullying an R rating for "some language" is pretty strange because I've seen movies with a rating of PG-13 that contained a whole lot more than just "some language". I recommend one to check out the documentary This Film is Not Yet Rated by Kirby Dick. It gives an excellent look into the MPAA and the double standards it has when it rates films.

Check out the trailer for This Film is Not Yet Rated below:

Trailer for the Documentary "Bully"

The synopsis for Bully from The New Orleans Film Festival website:
"Directed by Sundance- and Emmy-award winning filmmaker, Lee Hirsch, The Bully Project is a beautifully cinematic, character-driven documentary. At its heart are those with huge stakes in this issue whose stories each preresent a different facet of America’s bullying crisis. The Bully Project follows five kids and families over the course of a school year. Stories include two families who have lost children to suicide and a mother awaiting the fate of her 14-year-old daughter who has been incarcerated after bringing a gun on her school bus. With an intimate glimpse into homes, classrooms, cafeterias and principals’ offices, the film offers insight into the often cruel world of the lives of bullied children. As teachers, administrators, kids, and parents struggle to find answers, The Bully Project examines the dire consequences of bullying through the testimony of strong and courageous youth. Through the power of their stories, the film aims to be a catalyst for change in the way we deal with bullying as prents, teachers, children and society as a whole."
The film will be in select theaters on March 30th.

Movie Recommendation of the Week: "Vampire Girl vs. Frankenstein Girl" (2009)

I've decided to do a weekly movie recommendation post called Movie Recommendation of the Week!

How this will work is that I'll post a movie I recommend for one to check out every Monday and the movie I pick will come from the movies I watched the previous week. For example. today is February 20th, so that means that my recommendation today will come from the week of February 13th to February 19th. Next week's recommendation will come from the week starting today to February 26th. You get the idea.

My movie recommendation of the week:

Vampire Girl vs. Frankenstein Girl (2009)
Directed by Yoshihiro Nishimura and Naoyuki Tomomatsu

From IMDB.com: "Transfer student Monami has a secret and a past that has caught up with Mizushima. Deceiving Mizushima into eating a token gift of chocolate, laced with her blood, he is then catapulted into Monami's vampire world of blood, death and love. Jilted girlfriend Keiko has other ideas. With a sudden twist of fate, she is then transformed into the hideous and unforgiving Frankenstein Girl, and the battle for Mizushima's heart begins."

As one can tell by from the trailer, this movie isn't going to be for everyone. Clearly, it's one that people are either going to love or hate. If you liked the trailer, then I'd recommend to check it out. If you didn't like or get what you just watched, I'd highly recommend to stay away and watch something else. Personally, I loved it! Why? It's a fun flick that's outrageous and ridiculous with over the top amounts of blood and gore. I was pretty much laughing the whole time.

I know from reading some comments about the movie online, some found it to be racist. After doing some reading online, I believe that the movie was actually making fun of a subculture in Japan called Ganguro. In fact, I also believe that it makes fun of another subculture known as Lolita. That's my opinion on the issue.

Trailer for "Struck by Lightning"

Struck by Lightning is a comedy/drama about a high school student named Carson (Chris Colfer from Glee) who, after being struck and killed by lightning, recounts the time he blackmailed several fellow students into contributing to his literary magazine.

Colfer not only stars in the film, but he also wrote the screenplay and co-produced it with Glenn Rigberg. The film also stars Dermot Mulroney (My Best Friend's Wedding, Zodiac), Christina Hendricks (Mad Men), Sarah Hyland (Modern Family), Allison Janney (The West Wing) and Rebel Wilson (Bridesmaids).

The film will be released later this year, but a specific release date has not been set.

Check out the trailer:

After watching the trailer, I have a feeling that Rebel Wilson will steal every scene she's in and that's fine by me because she's hilarious.

'Parking Wars' is Back!

Tomorrow, February 11th, the new season of Parking Wars will premiere on A&E at 9pm PST.

This season, the show will focus on the parking departments of Detroit, Michigan and a new city, Providence, Rhode Island.

From the show's website:

"In Season 5 we're in the trenches with the men and women of Detroit and Providence parking departments as they ticket, boot, tow, and impound the cars of problem parkers, with unexpected and outrageous results."
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, home of the Philadelphia Parking Authority, was the first and only city to be featured on the show until season 3 when Detroit was chosen to join the show. The PPA won't be a part of the newest season as a spokesperson for A&E announced that their contract expired and a decision was made to expand to other cities such as Providence.

Sequel to "Machete" Moving Forward

Robert Rodriguez is moving forward with the sequel to his 2010 action flick Machete. He will be teaming with Alexander Rodnyansky, who will produce and finance the movie.

Rodriguez talked about Machete and the upcoming sequel:

"The fan response to the Machete character has been fanatical since his first appearance. Machete is truly a super hero and Machete Kills will be bigger and more ambitious than the first time."
The sequel will be titled Machete Kills and production is hoping to begin in April. Danny Trejo is currently in talks to reprise his role as Machete and I fully expect him to return. Rodriguez is saying that he anticipates much of the original cast will return for the sequel. It should be noted that a trilogy had been planned, so don't be surprised when news of a third movie is announced.

Here is the story for the sequel, thanks to Deadline:
"The new film finds Machete recruited by the U.S. Government for a mission which would be impossible for any mortal man. Machete must battle his way through Mexico to take down a madman cartel leader and an eccentric billionaire arms dealer who has hatched a plan to spread war across the planet with a weapon in space. Machete takes on an army in an effort to dismantle a plan for global anarchy."
Machete was filmed on a budget of $10.5 million and ended up grossing $44 million worldwide.

Jane Levy in Talks to Star in "Evil Dead" Remake

Jane Levy, star of ABC's Suburgatory, is currently in talks to star in the upcoming remake of The Evil Dead. Lily Collins was originally set to star, but dropped out recently.

Levy will play Mia, the character who will be similar to the character Ash (played by Bruce Campbell) from the original 1981 horror film. In the remake, Mia and five others make their way to a cabin in the woods where evil awaits. Mia is recovering from an overdose which, in turn, makes her even more vulnerable.

Sam Raimi (writer/director of the original) and Campbell are set to produce along with Rob Tapert. Fede Alvarez will be directing. While Alvarez co-wrote the script with Rodo Sayagues, the latest draft has been written by Diablo Cody (Juno and Young Adult).

The movie has been given a release date of April 12, 2013.

Trailer for "Game Change"

HBO has released their trailer for Game Change. The film is based on the book about the 2008 Presidential campaign that was written by John Heilman and Mark Halperin. Jay Roach directed the film and Danny Strong wrote the script.

Game Change will premiere on March 10th on HBO.

After watching the trailer, I have to say that Julianne Moore was the perfect choice to play Sarah Palin and I'm looking forward to the film.
