Movie Recommendation of the Week: "Vampire Girl vs. Frankenstein Girl" (2009)

I've decided to do a weekly movie recommendation post called Movie Recommendation of the Week!

How this will work is that I'll post a movie I recommend for one to check out every Monday and the movie I pick will come from the movies I watched the previous week. For example. today is February 20th, so that means that my recommendation today will come from the week of February 13th to February 19th. Next week's recommendation will come from the week starting today to February 26th. You get the idea.

My movie recommendation of the week:

Vampire Girl vs. Frankenstein Girl (2009)
Directed by Yoshihiro Nishimura and Naoyuki Tomomatsu

From IMDB.com: "Transfer student Monami has a secret and a past that has caught up with Mizushima. Deceiving Mizushima into eating a token gift of chocolate, laced with her blood, he is then catapulted into Monami's vampire world of blood, death and love. Jilted girlfriend Keiko has other ideas. With a sudden twist of fate, she is then transformed into the hideous and unforgiving Frankenstein Girl, and the battle for Mizushima's heart begins."

As one can tell by from the trailer, this movie isn't going to be for everyone. Clearly, it's one that people are either going to love or hate. If you liked the trailer, then I'd recommend to check it out. If you didn't like or get what you just watched, I'd highly recommend to stay away and watch something else. Personally, I loved it! Why? It's a fun flick that's outrageous and ridiculous with over the top amounts of blood and gore. I was pretty much laughing the whole time.

I know from reading some comments about the movie online, some found it to be racist. After doing some reading online, I believe that the movie was actually making fun of a subculture in Japan called Ganguro. In fact, I also believe that it makes fun of another subculture known as Lolita. That's my opinion on the issue.
