My movie recommendation of the week:
Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011)
Directed by Rupert Wyatt
From RottenTomatoes.com: "A single act of both compassion and arrogance leads to a war unlike any other -- and to the Rise of the Planet of the Apes. The Oscar-winning visual effects team that brought to life the worlds of Avatar and Lord of the Rings is breaking new ground, creating a CGI ape that delivers a dramatic performance of unprecedented emotion and intelligence, and epic battles on which rest the upended destinies of man and primate."
Stunning visual effects, a good story, lots of action and great acting (especially Andy Serkis as "Caesar") makes this my movie recommendation of the week. I wish I did go see it when it was in theaters because I would've liked to see it on the big screen, but what can you do? One thing I didn't like was the love story between James Franco and Freida Pinto. I found it unnecessary and I didn't feel any chemistry between them, but that's just a minor complaint and didn't interfere with me enjoying the film.
