Movie Recommendation of the Week: "Man Hunt" (1941)

My movie recommendation of the week:

Man Hunt (1941)
Directed by Fritz Lang

From IMDB.com: "British hunter Thorndike vacationing in Bavaria has Hitler in his gunsight. He is captured, beaten, left for dead, and escapes back to London where he is hounded by German agents and aided by a young woman."

After watching Fritz Lang's M (1931) and Fury (1936), I wanted to watch more of his films which is what led me to checking out Man Hunt (1941). This WWII flick is a great thriller that is wonderfully directed by Lang. The film moves at a good pace and towards the end, it features a tense standoff between Thorndike (Walter Pidgeon) and Major Quive-Smith (George Sanders) where a twist is revealed that I wasn't expecting. Reading some reviews, I saw that many people had a problem with the war propaganda ending, but I didn't really have a problem with it.

While it's not my favorite film from Lang, that honor goes to M, it's still a great film and that's why it's my movie recommendation of the week.
