According to Deadline, NBC is working on an Office spinoff that will star Rainn Wilson. Fans of the show will know that Wilson plays Dwight Schrute, the assistant to the Regional Manager.
The show will be set at Schrute Farms, a beet farm and bed & breakfast. A source close to The Office says, "Paul [Lieberstein] and Rainn have been joking for years about Dwight's life on the farm, his family and how ill-suited he is to run a B&B." NBC liked their idea and are working on making it happen.
Wilson and Lieberstein ("Toby" and executive producer) are set to executive produce the spinoff which is set for a launch in midseason of 2013. The potential spinoff will be introduced during an episode of The Office later this season.
