Jim Carrey Exits "Dumb and Dumber" Sequel

Three months ago, Peter Farrelly confirmed that a sequel to the 1994 comedy Dumb and Dumber was in the works and the two stars from the film, Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels, would reprise their roles. It now looks like that the fate of the sequel is up in the air because Entertainment Tonight is reporting that Jim Carrey has exited the project.

Sources are saying that Carrey grew more and more frustrated with New Line and Warner Brothers because he felt that the two studios didn't show enough enthusiasm towards the project.

Entertainment Tonight contacted Carrey's publicist, who confirmed the story and provided them with a short statement by the actor which said, "I would have thought Dumb and Dumber To was a no-brainer, after all it's implied in the title."

As much as I was looking forward to the sequel since I loved the first one, I think that the project should be scrapped completely since Carrey has dropped out.
