Adam McKay, writer/director, announced on Facebook that Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids, SNL) is "officially on board" for Anchorman: The Legend Continues and that he "couldn't be happier" about it. Back in December, I wrote about the fact that she was being eyed for a role in the sequel.While there's no word on the role she'll be playing, the rumor is that she'll play the love interest for weatherman Brick Tamland (played by Steve Carell). Along with Carell, Wiig joins the other cast members that include Will Ferrell, Christina Applegate, Paul Rudd and Dave Koechner.
Anchorman 2 will hit theaters on December 20th.
