With ABC Family's The Fosters posting excellent numbers each week, it's a surprise that no announcement has been made as to whether or not the show will get a second season. Saying that, I feel that season 2 is a lock. I mean, just look at these numbers thanks to TV by the Numbers:
- Monday's episode (1x08) set a series high when it came to total viewers at 1.894 million as well as the target group 18-34, 18-49 and females 12-34.
- For the 4th week in a row, the show was Monday's #1 TV telecast when it came to female teens.
ABC Family, do the right thing and order a second season already! Please.
The Fosters airs on Monday nights at 9pm on ABC Family, so check it out and catch up quick because the summer finale is set to air on August 5th!
From ABC Family:
"The Fosters is a compelling, one-hour drama about a multi-ethnic family mix of foster and biological kids being raised by two moms. Stef Foster (Teri Polo), a dedicated police officer, and her partner Lena Adams (Sherri Saum), a school Vice Principal, have built a close-knit, loving family with Stef's biological son from a previous marriage, Brandon (David Lambert), and their adopted twins, Mariana (Cierra Ramirez) and Jesus (Jake T. Austin). Their lives are disrupted in unexpected ways when Lena meets Callie (Maia Mitchell), a hardened teen with an abusive past who has spent her life in and out of foster homes. Lena and Stef warily welcome Callie into their home thinking it's just for a few weeks, until a more permanent placement can be found."
